You might remember the day that Bubba came home and surprised me by informing me that he ordered 100 chicks.

Wait? You don’t remember that?

I do. I was standing in the kitchen, cleaning chick feeders for the 35 chicks we already had in residence in our a garage.

It was Easter Week. Yes- that week.

Well folks, the time has come when all of those chicks have grown up and are ready for harvesting. Which means for the first time, The Collective will be offering Pastured Poultry for sale.

What’s special about our birds? Honestly- nothing. We just raised them like the rest of our animals, which is the way they were intended to be.

These chickens were raised out in the pasture, given access to all of the fresh grass, and grubs they wanted plus an all you can eat buffet of fresh feed with vitamins and minerals that they need (no antibiotics) and fresh, clean water. They dozed in the sun, they lounged in the shade- they stayed warm and dry when it rained and they were never subjected to beak clipping, cramped quarters or hot houses. Oh and they could walk, talk and play with their friends. Just like Colin could.

I mean, happy chickens make tasty chickens right? We think so.
