Babies!!!
Yes, lots and lots of babies. Lambs and piggies and chicks and ducks- all signs of spring.
Thank God- I thought it was never coming. Some days I’m still wondering if its really here, if we could just turn off the showers/rain for a bit so things have a chance to dry out that would be nice.
I was out visiting farmer Joe last week and got to see his baby lambs. I thought I’d share a few photos of the kids for your enjoyment- just so you can imagine that Spring is really here.
These lambs are all a few hours old, with knobby knees and still a little off balance. At this point, the main focus is eating and staying warm and dry so Farmer Joe has to work round the clock feeding them or making sure they eat from mom about every 3-4 hours.
Joe sleeps in the hay mound during these few days. Joe smells like hay and baby lambs and also walks with a stagger due to a lack of sleep. But he’ll tell you its worth it. You can thank Joe next time you see him for helping these moms take care of their babies during their first few hours. I’m sure he’ll have showered by then and hopefully gotten some sleep.
So So So Sweet!! We just need the Sun to Shine!!
So, so cute!!!
Thank you Sarah! After the day I’ve had so far… I needed this! Thanks! I am played out and soaking wet. Mom’s and babies are all well, 90some so far, with maybe 50 more to go…. I could use a full night’s sleep and maybe just a little more sunshine! Your the best-
